Jesus’ House
Hebrews 3:1-6 Theme: Jesus’ house. Sermon by Pastor David Williams. Strathalbyn Church of Christ. 15 Aug 2021. Pray, Lord, let your Spirit open his word to us today, and help us walk in your light. In Jesus name, Amen. Billy was told he was moving with his family to a new house, by the sea. Billy was really excited and imagining his new home, he built a model house in his sandpit, made of matchboxes, with a few twigs for trees and even a swimming pool in the back – using the cat’s sardine can. Don’t Drift!

The hope of glory 5-9 3. Jesus our brother 10-18 1. Danger! Don’t drift. 1-4 As a youngster, you may have gone out fishing in a tinny. It’s a fine morning, barely a ripple. You are so intent on watching the lines that you hardly notice the grey clouds looming, or the swell building up, or the boat silently drifting. Read more

God Rules through his Son

Sometimes we need to work a little harder to get the right result (look at Ash Barty!). The book of Hebrews is like that. Of all the NT books, it majors on the OT traditions, traditions that are a bit obscure to most of us. It majors on those OT traditions because it was written for the Jews – Jews who had come to accept that Jesus was their Messiah, the one they had been expecting for centuries. Read more
